Lido House, Autograph Collection Hotel in Newport Beach is a Marriott hotel that mixes the coziness of a beach house with the luxury of a resort.

When I visited this hotel, I was surprised at the amount of charm this hotel has! I felt like I was entering my own personal cottage by the sea rather than stepping into a hotel in usually-crowded Newport Beach.

Lido House is built just off of the main road onto the Balboa Peninsula on the same plot of land where the old city hall once stood.

The hotel gets its name from its proximity to Lido Isle and the Lido Peninsula, two beautiful waterfront areas of Newport Beach.

Now that you know a little about what you’re getting yourself into, let’s dive into the review!

The Guest Rooms are fairly small and don’t offer much room for parties bigger than 3 people.

If you want to stay at Lido House to stretch out and enjoy the view from your room, my suggestion is to get one of the luxury rooms because of their bigger size.

But even the lower-tiered rooms have pleasantly soft beds and every basic comfort that one would expect while staying at a nice hotel such as free wi-fi and sweet smelling soaps and shampoos.

Lido House Amenities

Besides the standard services and amenities of daily housekeeping, room service, and complimentary wi-fi, Lido House has some amenities that will make your stay more comfortable and luxurious.

Outdoor Pool and Whirlpool

Lido House is built around a centrally placed saltwater pool area complete with cabanas available for rent, shade umbrellas, and a hot tub.

When I went, the pool was packed from the time it opened until it closed with guests who wanted to soak up the sun.

For those just wanting to sunbathe, there is a lawn area with lounging chairs and adjustable umbrellas so you can enjoy a good book in the shade or lay out in the full SoCal sun.

Poolside meal ordering is available and hotel staff will bring your order right to your chair, just like room service.

Fresh towels are provided at the pool and room service will happily deliver more towels to your room if you request it.

Fitness Center

The Lido House Fitness Center has an impressive array of exercise equipment for guests to use.

Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, free weights, and exercise balls are up for grabs in this small private gym.

If you are into fitness on your vacation, this will give you access to everything you could need and chances are that you’ll have the whole thing to yourself as well!

Boost Spa

npbak spa 2372 hor clsc

Boost Spa is Lido House’s private spa that offers facials, massages, waxing, couple’s massage, and other services.

It gets its name because it focuses on treatments that will give you a boost of energy throughout the whole day.

The spa is open every day from 9:00am-5:00pm and appointments are required. To make an appointment for your stay at Lido House, call (949) 662-6170 or make an online appointment here.

Pets

Pets are not allowed, but the hotel does welcome service animals.

Lido House Atmosphere

Newport Beach is home to many beachfront neighborhoods that are built after the Cape Cod style of architecture. Lido House is no exception to this.

npbak lobby 0047 hor clsc
Source: Marriott.com

Walking into Lido House is not like walking into a normal Marriott hotel. It has beach-themed decorations and light colors that will make you feel like you’ve just walked into a modern beachfront property.

The hotel also gives off the vibes of being expensive and classy, but in a simple, elegant way.

Just staying in this hotel feels like a vacation all on its own. Add to that the nearby beaches and nice pool and your vacation will feel like a stay in tropical paradise!

Lido House is geared more towards adults than kids, but there are still many things for kids to do and it is not uncommon to see families with young children frequenting the pool and lobby.

The Lido House hotel has a very welcoming, comfortable, and beachy feeling to it.

Lido House Restaurants and Bars

Lido House has a few options when it comes to dining in at the hotel.

While I did not sample any of the food options at Lido House when I went (I was too busy eating at some of my favorite restaurants in the area), I want to highlight the different venues available to eat inside the hotel.

Room Service

Every morning, guests can order a full American breakfast directly to their room for a fee starting at $22.00.

The Mayor’s Table

The Mayor’s Table is Lido House’s main dining venue.

The restaurant is a Pacific pub and kitchen that offers high-quality American-themed cuisine.

If you get back from a relaxing day at the beach and are ready to chow down, come as you are! The Mayor’s Table has a casual dress code and welcomes tank tops and flip flops inside.

It is open for lunch and dinner, and guests may dine-in, take out, or order food from the restaurant via room service.

This restaurant is far from cheap and resembles a very fancy restaurant where appearance and taste are more important than portion size.

If you have a hankering for a big meal, you may want to skip The Mayor’s Table and head across the street.

Topside Roof Deck

Topside is a bar that is located on the roof of Lido House.

npbak topside 0069 hor clsc
Source: Marriott.com

With lights stringed across the rooftop seating area, enjoy drinks and pub food even after you watch the sun set into the blue ocean.

As far as beach-town restaurants go, the ambiance of Topside will have you feeling relaxed and enjoying the gentle sea breeze.

Again, I didn’t visit Topside when I stayed at Lido House, but that was only because it was being renovated when I visited. I would have loved to admire the view from the top of the hotel, even if I didn’t sample any of the food!

Crew Coffee and Cremerie

Crew is a coffee shop attached to Lido House.

Offering coffee and ice cream, this quaint shop is worth a visit any time of day.

The size of the menu is small, but from pictures and reviews that I read it looks like a great place to start your morning with or finish your night with.

Conclusion

Newport Beach is one of my all-time favorite places to vacation, and Lido House only enhanced my most recent visit to the beach town.

The beach house atmosphere of the hotel is refreshing and allows you to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life–a requirement for any vacation I would think.

Even with Newport Beach being so close by, I found myself spending more time lounging by the pool than at the beach because of how convenient and nice it is.

The service at this hotel was exceptional. Every staff member I met was kind and courteous, and they answered our special requests like having extra towels be delivered to our room without complaint.

The only downside to this hotel that I can think of is the size of the normal guest rooms. There was hardly enough room for our party of 4 in the guest room with 2 queen beds. However, on vacation, I usually don’t spend more time than is necessary inside the hotel room.

If you are planning on being out and about or near the pool or spa and room size doesn’t matter to you, then the normal guest rooms will be perfect for you. If you are a kick back and relax in the hotel room kind of traveler, then you may want to upgrade to a suite or cottage so you can really be comfortable.

Overall, Lido House offers a great value to anyone’s stay in Newport Beach because of its location, pool, and ambiance.

I would strongly recommend Lido House to couples or small families that want to visit Newport Beach.

For large families or groups, I think I would recommend staying at a different hotel or searching for an Airbnb that could accommodate all of you.

Enjoy your trip to paradise!
